The Museum of London have recently brought our their own iPhone app called Street Museum that uses geo-tagging and augmented reality to overlay images from their archive in real time and space. Seems like it could have interesting implications for diffusing museum collections and content, and it's free!
Welcome to the Leeds University Museum Studies Blog. Here you can follow the activities, conversations and debates associated with the University's School of Fine Art, History of Art and Cultural Studies courses. We envisage it as an informal space for museum-related discussion, interests & the sharing of ideas. To join the conversation click the 'Get involved!' tab. We hope you enjoy it! Rosa and Mark
Thanks Rebecca,
ReplyDeletethis looks fantastic - it's an idea that has a relationship to the notion of 'ground-truthing' I think?....one of my ex-students at Salford devised a similar kind of thing...for Blackpool...with fixed transparent perspex screens so you could 'see into the past'....I think there are really interesting ideas here....
