Sir Michael Sadler Symposium - free event at Leeds Art Gallery

The Stanley & Audrey Burton Gallery is co-organising a free symposium with Leeds Art Gallery, celebrating the wider legacy of Sir Michael Sadler, our University Vice Chancellor 1911-1923.

You might remember the Sadler Gift exhibition at the Gallery last Autumn? Sadler was certainly generous with his art collection to the University of Leeds, but his influence was felt throughout the city and beyond as well. He helped the curator of Leeds Art Gallery, Frank Rutter, to set up one of the (now!) oldest Friends organisations in the UK in 1912 - the Leeds Art Collections Fund. The LACF is therefore celebrating its centenary year in 2012; at the end of this symposium day, all attendees are invited to the PV for the LACF centenary exhibition.

More info and booking is now online.
